My First Pair of JordansFebruary 19th, 2012

My lovely wife surprised me at Valentine’s Day dinner with my first adult pair of Nike Air Jordans. I had a pair of original Jordan hi-tops in grade school, but when high school hit and the original 3′s came out, it was a different story. I was busy buying skate shoes and always wanted another pair of Jordans, but knew that I would ruin them skating.

Now the prices have gotten way out of hand, or you need to stand on line for a pair. As an adult, I’ve often considered purchasing a pair, but haven’t for one reason or another. I’d always looked to the Spizike as the all encompassing Jordan, pulling the best features from the early pairs. So, when I expressed interest in a new release we spied in Foot Locker, Edie wasted no time.

Unfortunately (and fortunately, may the truth be told), she gave them to me without a box. In fact, if I don’t wear them outdoors within a week, Edie has threatened to return them (she did keep the box at her office). I’ll be sure to only rock them on the most perfect of days, however, to keep them crispy.

Get to the NewsstandFebruary 18th, 2012

Issue 10 of Peloton Magazine is on newsstands now and features a two page spread on Gage + DeSoto.

The total piece is four pages, as we are joined by Ifixbyx. All written and shot by our good friend Chris Henry. Maybe that’s why I managed to make it into photos in both articles.

Swing by your local newsstand to grab a copy. With a great photo of a younger Greg Lemond on the cover, you can’t miss it.

All ConditionsJanuary 18th, 2012

Like the Air Max 90 Infrared, I missed this pair of Wildwoods the first time around. I had just purchased a pair of ACG Wildpegs with some hi-viz flair and Spriggs scooped these. Luckily, I found a pair on eBay a few weeks back. Here they are!

Pink on PinkOctober 19th, 2011

Behold a pair of all pink Oakley Razorblades that I created out of two different glasses. Even the nosepiece matches. Classy.

Late to the PartyOctober 14th, 2011

I finally upgraded to Dura Ace 7900 after riding the same 7800 parts for nearly four years. Of course, I re-appropriated the 7800 parts onto my CX rig, but let’s save those photos for another time.

For now, enjoy this lovely specimen- an Independent Fabrication SSR constructed of Columbus XCR Stainless Steel welded by Tyler Evans (more recently, one of the founders of Firefly). The paint was custom for Rapha Racing NYC. Five of these were made, each noted by the moniker on the top tube. Mine happens to read “Cleaver”, which makes it hard to confuse for anyone else’s.

Best. Cover. Ever.October 1st, 2011

For some reason this cover is the ultimate for me. I distinctly remember this particular cover of GI Joe for whatever reason… Maybe it’s the balaclava that Beachhead wore? Could it be 3 dudes in a heavily armed jet ski blasting away? It might even just be the color combination. Regardless, it rules.

InfraradSeptember 28th, 2011

The Nike Air Max 90 Infrared sneaker is finally in my collection. Last summer when they re-re-released them, I planned on getting a pair. As life would have it, other priorities took precedence. So, when an opportunity arose a few weeks ago- I jumped at it.

Turn On Your BlacklightSeptember 21st, 2011

As soon as I tell myself, “No more Frogskins”, Oakley drops another amazing pair! What’s a boy to do?

Dear GeorgeSeptember 19th, 2011

This week’s Dust Bunny is fitting, as I plan to sell the set on eBay in the very near future. Check back, as I’ll update the comments with a link to the auction. Until then, enjoy the photo of these three re-issued decks (in handboard size) lined up. These decks were part of a volley of insults back and forth between George Powell and Steve Rocco.
